Garrage Privacy Policy
The short version
Garrage does not send your data to us or to anyone else. It has no account, no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and it uses no third-party code. Your data stays on your devices and in your own private iCloud database, which we cannot access.
What Garrage stores
Everything you enter in the app:
- Vehicles: name, make, model, year, color, fuel type, license plate number and a photo.
- Fuel and charging entries: date, odometer reading, amount, price per unit, whether the tank was filled up, and notes.
- Service history: date, odometer reading, title, notes, cost and a photo of the invoice.
- Reminders: type (inspection, insurance, oil change), due date or mileage, notes, whether it is done, and notification settings.
- Tires: summer or winter, brand, model, size, purchase and fitting dates, tread depth, storage location and notes.
Invoice photos are saved exactly as the file you picked. If that file contains extra information, such as the date it was taken, the camera model or the location, it stays in the file. That means it is also synced to your iCloud and included in backups you export. Vehicle photos are cropped and saved as a new image.
Your settings (units, currency, appearance, the selected vehicle) are stored only on the device and are not synced.
iCloud sync
Garrage keeps your data in sync across your devices through your private iCloud database (Apple CloudKit), including photos. This database belongs to your Apple Account. We have no access to it, and nothing in it is sent to us. Sync is always on; there is no switch for it in the app. If you are not signed in to iCloud, Garrage keeps your data only on the device.
Apple stores your iCloud data under Apple’s Privacy Policy.
Camera
Garrage uses the camera only for the scanner that reads a fuel pump display or a receipt when you add a fuel entry. It asks for permission the first time you tap Scan pump / receipt. The text is recognized on your device, and the numbers it finds only fill in the form for you to check. No images or text from the camera are saved or sent anywhere.
Photos
To add a vehicle or invoice photo, Garrage uses the system photo picker. The app receives only the photo you choose and has no access to the rest of your photo library.
Notifications
Reminders use local notifications: they are scheduled on your device and never pass through a server. A notification shows the vehicle name, the reminder type, the due date or mileage and your notes for that reminder, so depending on your notification settings these may be visible on your Lock Screen. Garrage asks for permission to send notifications when you first open it. You can change this any time in the system Settings under Notifications ▸ Garrage.
Backups
In Settings ▸ Backup ▸ Export Backup you can save all your Garrage data, including photos, to a single file in a place you choose (for example Files or iCloud Drive). The file is not encrypted: anyone who has it can read everything in it, so keep it somewhere safe. The file is never sent to us.
Restore from Backup replaces all current data with the contents of the file. Because of iCloud sync, this happens on all your devices signed in to the same iCloud account.
Deleting your data
- Deleting a vehicle (you are asked to confirm) also deletes all its fuel entries, service entries, tires and reminders.
- Individual entries are deleted from their edit screens. An invoice photo can be removed on its own.
- Deletions sync to iCloud and your other devices.
- There is no single “delete everything” button in the app.
Because we do not hold any of your Garrage data, there is nothing we could export or delete for you: you have full control over it in the app, in your backups and in your iCloud account.
What Garrage does not do
- It has no account or sign-in.
- It shows no ads and contains no analytics, tracking or advertising identifiers.
- It includes no third-party libraries or SDKs, only Apple’s own frameworks.
- It has no network code of its own. Apart from backups you export yourself, the only data that leaves your device is iCloud sync, handled by Apple.
- It uses no AI services and has no in-app purchases.
- It does not access your location, contacts, microphone, health data or calendar.
Contact
Garrage is published by Bartosz Kozłowski. If you have any questions about this policy or about your data, write to us at support@garrage.app.
If you email us, we use your email address and your message only to reply to you and help with your question. We do not share them with anyone.
Children
Garrage does not collect personal data from anyone, including children under 13.
Crash reports from Apple
Garrage does not send crash reports itself. If you turned on Share With App Developers in your device's Privacy & Security ▸ Analytics & Improvements settings, Apple may share crash reports and app usage statistics with us. We use them only to find and fix problems. You can turn this off at any time in the same place.
Deleting your data from iCloud
Deleting Garrage removes its data from that device, but the copy in your iCloud account stays until you delete it:
- On iPhone: open Settings ▸ [your name] ▸ iCloud, go to your iCloud storage, choose Garrage, and delete its data.
Changes to this policy
If Garrage starts handling data differently, we will update this page no later than the app update that brings the change, and the “Last updated” date at the top will change.
